England face Norway tonight at Wembley in a warm up match ahead of their opening EURO 2016 qualifying game against Switzerland next Monday.
Roy has named his squad which includes 5 players who are 22 or under.
The Line-up is as follows:
Joe Hart, John Stones, Phil Jones, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney.
Roy Hodgson had this to say in his pre-match interview:
This is a team that contains interesting young talent with enormous potential, there will be one or two that wouldn’t have played many games.
The game will be Wayne Rooney’s first after being officially announced as the England captain following Steven Gerrard’s international retirement. Rooney will be hoping he can have a positive impact on the younger members of the squad and said:
The young ones have to step up to the plate and make certain they don’t let themselves down.
The game itself could be played in front of the lowest crowd since the new Wembley as the FA expect there to only be around 35,000 – 40,000 in the stadium. Rooney went on to say that the low attendance figure will be down to a poor World Cup campaign but insists the players will be doing everything they can to win the game to reward the England fans that have gone through the effort.
Norwegian international calls our Rooney ‘chubby’

Is our captain getting a bit ‘chubby’? Yes is the answer according to one of the Norwegian players!
Bit harsh really but I must say I did chuckle when I found out that Norwegian defender Vegard Forren had been quoted saying Rooney was “a bit chubby”. He did however follow this up with praise for our squad saying:
They’re obviously good players, and many of them are on good form already after three games in the Premier League, but we’re looking forward to it.
